Coron is a first-class town (municipality) Palawan – a province of the Philippines in the Visayas. It is about 30° north-east of Palawan and south-west of Mindoro. Palawan is composed of about 1780 islands. Spratly Islands (Kalayaan Group of Islands) is part of Palawan. Palawan was formerly part of Luzon until geographically changed by former president of the Philippines Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Best Time To Travel To Coron
Climate in Coron is almost the same throughout the year ranging from 20° to 37°. Best time is during the dry season which is December through March. June through August is the rainiest months. You might not want to visit Coron during these months unless you like frolicking in the rain. During the other months, you may experience a bit of rain and a bit of sun. Trivia
Palawan is part of Mimaropa – one of the two regions that comprise Region IV. The other is Calabarzon. In 2005, then-president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, by virtue of an Executive Order, moved the political administration of Palawan to Region VI (Western Visayas). However, residents of Palawan rejected the move, thus, the EO was held in abeyance. Currently, Palawan has remained part of Mimaropa, Islands of Luzon (not Visayas nor Mindanao).Mimaropa stands for Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan.
